Anderson Softball Stadium

UNC opened play in 2002 in its new home at Williams Field at Eugene A. Anderson Stadium, and the Tar Heels officially dedicated their new stadium with a 4-2 win over Georgia Tech on April 23, 2006. Located just off of UNC’s campus on Raleigh Road, the stadium is easily accessible with plenty of parking for fans.

Carolina hosted the first ever NCAA Regional at Anderson Stadium in 2008 while setting a school record for wins with a 50-12-1 that season. UNC also hosted an NCAA Regional in 2009, as well as hosting the ACC Tournament in 2006 and 2012.

Named for Eugene A. Anderson and Cheryl and Ken Williams, the 50,000 square foot facility has a seating capacity of 500 with a mix of stadium seating bleacher seats. There is additional standing room for another 100 fans above the stadium seats. A perennial top-25 team, the Tar Heels regularly fill up the stands for the annual Carolina Classic tournament in February as well as for exciting weekend ACC series and mid-week games throughout the season.

A brick Circle of Donors is in place on the stadium concourse, honoring the many Carolina softball donors and Home Run Club members. The team building features a top-of-the-line locker room, on-site training room, coaches’ offices, equipment room and a spacious and fully furnished team room. The Wall of Honor inside the team building showcases Carolina’s eight All-Americas as well as the Tar Heels’ numerous conference and regional award recipients, and a trophy case features UNC’s numerous coaching and player awards over the years. Bullpens, batting cages and a separate practice field are also featured at the complex.
